About Shade Tree Counseling: Shade Tree Counseling, PLLC is a newly established private practice in Greensboro, NC. We specialize in providing evidence-based, culturally attentive outpatient counseling to individuals in the Piedmont Triad and across North Carolina. Our clinical focus areas include anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, relationship concerns, queer identity development, and neurodivergence.  

Program Overview We are excited to announce openings for our Two-Year LCMHC-Associate Program. This position is specifically designed to support recent graduates as they transition from academic training into full-time, independent practice and work toward full North Carolina LCMHC licensure. 

Led by a former Training Director of an APA-accredited Doctoral Internship and a North Carolina LCMHC-S, our practice is built to support the transition from academic training to independent practice. Shade Tree’s clinical excellence is rooted in our emphasis on training and professional identity development.

  • Licensure Support: Direct service and supervision hours so you can meet requirements within the two-year timeframe and support in navigating the LCMHC Board.

Qualifications:

  • Recent Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field.
  • Current, or immediately eligible for, LCMHC-Associate licensure in North Carolina.
  • Motivated, qualified, and passionate about building a satisfying career in outpatient therapy.
